The Origin of “The Patriarch”

Survivor of the Vietnam War and leaving everything behind, Ong found the promise land in America.  Life was hard while trying to support a family of 10 children; Ong had no time to enjoy the splendid art of fishing, that is, until the age of 65!  After retiring from his day time job, Ong decided it was time to learn how to fish from his children the Captain and JU.  It was a humbling experience to learn from the ones you taught and trained as youngsters.  However, Ong excelled at his lessons and now wanders the Sacramento River in search of shad, trout, catfish, salmon, sturgeon, and his favorite Striped Bass!  His arsenals consist of…  a bunch of fishing poles, spoons, weights, hooks, etc…. At the age of 85, he is known as the Patriarch!
