Too Many Sites... So Little Time.

Dakota Trip - Day 5 - Sunday, June 8th

I love the tradition of fasting before feasting; hence, I love to attend the earliest Holy Mass.  In America, we are super blessed.  We can easily find a church and drive to it without much trouble.  We got an opportunity to attend SS. Peter & Paul before trekking out to Sioux Falls.

Guess which Holy Mass we attended.

SS. Peter & Paul, Pierre, SD

After Holy Mass, we came back to the hotel to have breakfast.  There we were delighted to engage in conversation with the Traveling Cousins.  They know how to retire in style.  They should give lessons on how to retire and enjoy life.  I believe we have acquired new life long friends.  We exchanged E-Mails and went our ways...

On our way to Sioux Falls, which is another 3-hr drive East of our hotel in Pierre, we stopped by....  yes, Cabela's in Mitchell, SD

JU does like Cabela's.

Finally, at our Sioux Falls destination, we discovered that the falls is located in the park in the City of Sioux Falls.  What's very interesting is that the falls meanders through very pretty rock formation.  It's one of those falls that is not very tall, but makes a beautiful back-drop for pictures.

Sioux Falls, SD

We can see this Cathedral from a distance.

Miracle Squad.

Another pose.

We were on this tower overlooking the falls.

We had to drive to this Cathedral to get a closer look - very breath taking.

On the drive back to Pierre, there was a big bill board sign by the freeway beckoning us to visit the Mid Americas Fatima Family Shrine.  It was starting to get dark and cloudy, but I'm glad we stopped by.  It was a fantastic shrine in a tiny town.  I'm not sure how it is so very well maintained.  Not a soul in sight as we reflect on our blessings....

Amazing to get a Bishop from Portugal to bless the site.

Super clean and well maintained by who???

God bless America - I'm truly grateful.

Continuing back to the hotel, we were treated to a spectacular Dakota Sunset....

Gotta be there.

I think it's around 10 pm?

???  Fantastic!

Dakota Trip - Day 6 - Monday, June 9th

Must all good things come to an end?  Sadly, our vacation in the Dakotas is coming to an end and we had to pack up and head back to Cali.  However, we can't resist checking out one more site before going to the airport...  So many sites...   So little time.

Time to go.
Can't resist the water.

One can reserve this cabin.

Dream cabin by the water.

Our last site

From da plane.

"If I am blessed, our paths will cross again."  Vietnamese farewell

  1. Wow those are beautiful pictures! I especially love that cabin picture on the water. I have always dreamed about retiring in a place like that in front of a great fishing spot.
