Move over, Fantastic Four. Move over, Incredibles. Move over, Justice League, Justice Society, and Super Friends. Here comes....
Team United, Inc.
The Fish Whisperer reports that fishing in the Sierras is on fire! Master-Kaster has completed his Noah's Ark Project and took her out on the local Folsom Lake; yes, he reports the fishing there is on fire too! This gives reason for JU to take the Miracle Kids (all six of them - Blessed be the Lord!) out fishing. Here's the fishing report from yesterday, so read on....
Unfortunately, Mrs. Miracle had to work and cannot make the trip. We left the house at 0700 hours and arrived at Dark Lake at 0900 hours. This was a virgin voyage for the Ave Maria, a 16-foot Explorer canoe purchased for $300 on Craigslist. All you fisher people know how it is.... to be water-worthy, more $$$, time, and tlc had to be added. But she is worth it!
Eight fishing poles, seven life jackets, seven pairs of sandals and shoes, three tackle boxes, one ice chest, one electric 30# thrust motor, etc.... Wait, was there room for passengers?!?! Did we leave anyone behind? This was why we arrived at 0900 hours, but did not get to fish until 1030 hours. However, three minutes later, the the first fish was landed by Miss Mystic, or Number 2, if you'd like. When you have more than four children, referring to them by number every now and then is acceptable. Anyway, by the time the Nomad joined us at around 11:30, JU and the Miracle Kids already had 10 trout on the stringer!!! The fishing was on fire!!!
From the banks, the Miracle Kids and Nomad were
knocking them dead with orange and green power balls. From the boat,
just about any lure would work. We used Arkie Blue and Silver crank
bait, Blue and Silver Lazy Ike flat fish, Orange and Brown no name crank
bait, 1/6 oz Copper Thomas Buoyant. The strange thing was that the
Lazy Ike with two treble hooks got the most hook-ups, but the least
landed as compared to the other lures that had just ONE single hook! JU
did not have to bring out his secret weapon on this trip.
I was so very proud of the children. They made an assembly line and cleaned all the fish. I didn't have to get my hands dirty. The best part was that they did it all without me asking. I am truly blessed!!!
Until next time, enjoy the following pictures and remember: God loves us all.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! Dark lake may have to change it's name to the lake that found light! Especially after the JU clan came through with an amazing catch and mind blowing stringer! Yes I would have to agree that the bite is on fire! I love your new canoe and trolling motor! You are a true troller now, with your skills from shore and now from water the fish have no chance against JU, best they just swim to the stringer...lol. More than anything you are just blessed. Thanks so much for sharing and honored you included a FW in your story. Would love to be in one of your adventures...maybe at ICR!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing about Doran Beach.
